The core of every sculpture in this series is always a natural form, like a branch, a leaf,… The added strips of colored wood are an industrial material used to level wooden constructions like walls and floors. In the sculptures, these strips are deprived of their industrial function. Instead, they follow and obey the natural form of the branch, the leaf or any other naturally formed object, and their underestimated beauty becomes fully visible. By making them obsequious to natural forms, they become part of nature, which is cool, I think. Because after all, they were once part of nature themselves.
